Nags Head for the weekend

Nick and I were blessed by some friends to come join them in Nags Head for the weekend. What a fun-filled weekend in June.

On Saturday, we spent the morning at the beach and then in afternoon we went shopping around Nags Head and to Jockey's Ridge to fly a kite with the Hawthornes. They flew a kite while I photographed the sunset.

Nick had so much fun flying this kite! I loved watching him play and the amazing view behind him!

I am my mother's daughter...

I am my mother's daugher, for better or worse! This rainy Sunday afternoon I find myself rearranging (pretty normal for me) but in the midst of doing so, I find bags, boxes, etc, everywhere of gifts that I have bought, just cute stuff that reminds me of my friends that would make great gifts. Now, my mom has always taught me to keep a gift or two on hand, just in case you forget/run out of time about a birthday or special event and you don't have time to go to the store. Well, in her case it's always been more than one or two, it's been Big boxes full, which is fine, she has a BIG house!
That's my problem, I am my mother's daughter, I take after her in many ways, buying and putting away gifts, being one way, the problem is now...I don't have the house she does, the storage she does..so here I am sitting looking at this storage container full of cute gifts that I have no room for!
I think I'm going to keep it out in sight so I can remember that I do have gifts, I don't need to go to the store to get something else, I have something at home....and I can give gifts for no apparent reason, I just love to give gifts!

Home for the Burke Wedding/Nick's New Job

I was blessed to be able to come back to GA to witness a sweet friend, Jennifer Ashley get married this weekend. Below are a few pictures from the wedding.

I also got to see my best friend, Rachel baby bump! I can't wait to meet this little one!

It seems like the wedding sesson of my life is ending and baby showers are beginning! One day it will be my turn for that special time!

Nick started his new job at Chick-Fil-A this week so he wasn't able to come with me to the wedding, I HATE going to weddings alone, but I am so excited that he has started his new job!

Alive!

We are alive!

Sorry, it's been so long since our last update, life has kept us very busy. Nick has traveled over seas with to do a track and field camp (Thanksgiving). We spent Christmas between our two families- with Nick's family, we spent most of our time in Dothan, AL. with Nick's Great Aunt who was dealing with some health issues.

We began our Christmas vacation with a trip to Ashley's best friends wedding, Rachel and Jace tied the knot, Dec. 20 and I (Ashley) had the honor of being a bridesmaids (non-traditional). We then traveled to Canton to spend the time leading up to Christmas with Ashley's family. Ashley's half-sister, Dawn found out that she is expecting on Dec. 26! Praise God!

The later part of break was spent in Dothan and Columbus with Nick's family. We so enjoyed our time with family, but missed our home.

In January, Nick began getting involved in Young Life which has kept him very busy, along with school. Ashley jumped right back in with her 6th graders, who can give her "gray hair" experiences.

We've had 3 snow days this Winter and we took time to have some fun, playing in the snow!

Life has just kept us going, sometimes too much! Just this month, Ashley was gone 3 weekend, a trip to Ga over Spring Break/ Easter, NW womens retreat and Young Life Camp (which Nick came with). This was the first "real" time that we got to spend together, on the drive, since Christmas!

Now, here we are on May 3, counting down the days until Summer Starts! Nick will be taking classes and working part time, and Ashley will possibly be working part time and continue work on building my kAbphoto@blogspot.com business!
